The semi-arched door of East Gate was built of Quanzhou white stone. The hip-and-gable gate tower with multiple eaves and trenches embraced and guarded Hsinchu City. In 1999, East Gate Plaza was funded and rebuilt as the Heart of Hsinchu, the spiritual fortress for Hsinchu people. Moreover, Hsinchu Moat Park is always full of plants and flowers and has become the best place for leisure activities.(about 9 minutes walking distance)
